The Role

  • Support analysis of specially assigned change initiatives or work-planning matters requiring detailed change assessment and response planning
  • Support the overall trend program schedule, including initiating trend focus meetings across disciplines
  • Support timely preparation of cost estimates, including scope, quantity, and cost comparisons between projects
  • Perform and verify productivity analysis of construction operations, establishing the productivity basis used in estimates in consultation with Construction
  • Prepare or supervise cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost/quantity comparisons, developing new techniques as required
  • Develop trend evaluations, ensuring consistency with previous reports, and issue reports required by management and project procedures
  • Maintain a clear understanding of project budget and scope, monitor development, flag deviations from budget, and prepare/evaluate trends
  • Support development of unit job-hour and pricing data for a specific discipline, including data analysis, problem identification, and recommendations

About You

  • Knowledge of estimating methods, processes, and procedures
  • Experience in quantity takeoffs, statistical analysis, and cost/price analysis
  • Skilled in applying technical discipline processes, engineering drawings, quantity determinations, and mathematical/financial reporting
  • Thorough understanding of cost indices and escalation projection sources
  • Understanding of, and ability to contribute to, risk and contingency assessments
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presenting to the project management team
  • Intermediate Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, complex graphs)
  • Familiarity with internal/proprietary estimating software, and converting estimate details into package budgets
