Our client is an independent boutique law firm in West Perth, acting for mid-market businesses and high-net-worth individuals across corporate and commercial, transactions, and disputes. The firm has specialist depth in mergers and acquisitions, tax, property, restructuring and business succession, and has built its reputation on collaborative, commercially sensible solutions for clients facing complex transactions.
The role
As the firm continues to grow, it’s looking for an experienced, commercially minded Senior Associate for a corporate advisory role.
You’ll join a collaborative team advising mid-market businesses, high-net-worth individuals and accountants on corporate advisory matters, including:
- Business structuring and restructuring
- Commercial transactions, including mid-market mergers and acquisitions up to around $50 million
- Capital restructuring
- Tax advisory, including transaction tax, restructuring, CGT, Division 7A and trust matters
- Shareholder and joint venture arrangements
- Asset protection and business succession planning
- Commercial contracts and strategic advice
- Property transactions
You’ll work directly with senior lawyers across a broad range of commercial work, with exposure to complex transactions through the firm’s insolvency, reconstruction and turnaround team.
Skills and experience
You’ll have:
- At least 5+ years’ PAE in transactions, commercial, tax or property law
- Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
- Confidence managing your own matters with director oversight
- Experience working with SME clients, accountants and advisers
- A commercial mindset and a real interest in business and tax law
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to client service
- Good communication and a focus on client outcomes
