About the Role
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client’s Perth office. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of multi-disciplinary projects, including those in battery minerals and plant optimisation. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions while mentoring junior team members and ensuring project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver heavy industry electrical and instrumentation design solutions.
- Review and mark up technical drawings, while providing construction and commissioning support.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, specifications, detailed designs, and scopes of work.
- Conduct site-based investigations, scoping, commissioning, and contractor management.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and support junior engineers and designers through technical guidance and mentoring.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 7–10 years of professional engineering experience in Australia.
- Proven background in heavy industry electrical and instrumentation design.
- Expertise in hazardous area design and specification of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Experience with functional safety lifecycle documentation, particularly LOPA methodology.
- Strong skills in electrical system calculations and early-stage study development.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement.
- Site-based experience across investigations, commissioning, and contractor management.
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Chartered/Registered Engineer status.
- Experience with heavy industry and minerals processing clients.
- Knowledge of control systems design.
- Multi-disciplinary consultancy experience.
- Proficiency in FEED and HAZOP facilitation.
- Strong project management capability.
