About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client’s Perth office. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of multi-disciplinary projects, including those in battery minerals and plant optimisation. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions while mentoring junior team members and ensuring project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver heavy industry electrical and instrumentation design solutions.
• Review and mark up technical drawings, while providing construction and commissioning support.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, specifications, detailed designs, and scopes of work.
• Conduct site-based investigations, scoping, commissioning, and contractor management.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and support junior engineers and designers through technical guidance and mentoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7–10 years of professional engineering experience in Australia.
• Proven background in heavy industry electrical and instrumentation design.
• Expertise in hazardous area design and specification of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Experience with functional safety lifecycle documentation, particularly LOPA methodology.
• Strong skills in electrical system calculations and early-stage study development.
• Excellent communication skills for client engagement.
• Site-based experience across investigations, commissioning, and contractor management.

Desirable (Not Essential)

• Chartered/Registered Engineer status.
• Experience with heavy industry and minerals processing clients.
• Knowledge of control systems design.
• Multi-disciplinary consultancy experience.
• Proficiency in FEED and HAZOP facilitation.
• Strong project management capability.
