What you’ll be doing
- Advising on governance, compliance and corporate structuring for a client base that includes prescribed bodies corporate, Aboriginal community-controlled organisations and community benefit trusts
- Getting hands-on with rule book and constitution reviews, trust deeds, and directors’ duties
- Working directly with the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act, a specialist area few junior lawyers get exposure to
- Drafting, negotiating and advising across a broad spread of commercial agreements
- Building relationships as a trusted advisor, not just a service provider
What you’ll bring
- 1 to 3 years’ PQE in corporate and commercial front-end work
- Genuine interest in First Nations advancement and not-for-profit/charity law
- Strong attention to detail and the organisational skills to juggle competing deadlines
- A collaborative streak and willingness to learn a specialist area of law
