Lead Electrical Engineer – Brownfields Mining Project
The Role:
We’re seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to take ownership of electrical work packages on a major brownfields mining project. This is a hands-on role covering the full project lifecycle, from scope development and design through to procurement, construction support and commissioning.
You’ll play a key role in delivering electrical engineering outcomes across a complex, multidisciplinary environment, working closely with internal teams, contractors and client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical engineering activities across assigned work packages
- Develop scopes of work, estimates and execution plans
- Oversee design deliverables, calculations and technical documentation
- Support procurement activities including bid evaluations and vendor reviews
- Provide engineering support to construction and site activities
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure delivery against scope, schedule and budget
About You:
- Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer with ~10+ years’ experience
- Strong background in brownfields mining or heavy industrial projects
- Experience across design, procurement and project delivery phases
- Solid knowledge of LV and HV systems and relevant Australian standards
- Proven experience managing scopes/packages within an EPCM environment
- Ability to travel to site as required
Desirable:
- Exposure to instrumentation and control systems
- Chartered / RPEQ
