The Opportunity:
Join a major EPC project team delivering a large-scale copper process plant and associated infrastructure. This is a senior-level role focused on piping engineering and plant layout, ensuring designs are practical, compliant, and optimised for construction, operations, and maintenance.
You’ll play a key role in coordinating across disciplines, reviewing designs, and driving layout decisions within a complex 3D model environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead piping and plant layout design for a major process plant
- Optimise layouts using P&IDs, operational, and maintenance requirements
- Review and approve design deliverables, vendor drawings, and specifications
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian & international codes
- Support cost estimates, work planning, and project reporting
- Oversee 3D model coordination and interface management across disciplines
- Mentor junior engineers and designers
About You:
- Degree qualified engineer (Mechanical or similar)
- ~8-10+ years’ experience in piping / plant design within EPC/EPCM projects
- Strong background in plant layout and piping systems
- Experience with 3D model environments (e.g. Navisworks, SP3D, E3D)
- Exposure to piping stress analysis (CAESAR II) and pipe supports
- Solid understanding of construction, installation, and testing of piping systems
- Proven ability to work across multi-discipline project teams
