QC Supervisor | Johor Bahru, Johor | Lead Quality for an Automotive Seat Business Unit
This is a chance to lead daily quality operations for the automotive seat business of a global components manufacturer in Johor.
 
About the client
Mills Recruitment is partnering with a leading global automotive components manufacturer to hire a QC Supervisor based at its manufacturing facility in Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia, supporting quality operations for its Automotive Seat Business Unit.
 
The role

• Supervise daily QA and QC operations, including quality meetings, inspections and issue follow-ups.
• Oversee quality functions across AQE, SQE, PQE, CQE, QC, Laboratory and Quality System audits.
• Maintain and improve quality management systems in line with IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, BIQS and AIAG requirements.
• Coach the team in Root Cause Analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and 8D problem-solving.
• Lead cross-functional and customer quality activities to resolve issues on time.
• Work with the QA Manager to deliver departmental OKRs and KPIs, monitor quality performance and address recurring defects.
• Support internal, external and customer audits, and maintain quality standards, Work Instructions and process flow diagrams.

About you
Must-haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design, Automation, Motor Design or a related engineering discipline. Equivalent qualifications may be considered.
• At least 3 years of quality management experience.
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, 8D, BIQS and AIAG Core Tools.
• Hands-on experience with RCA, CAPA and 8D problem-solving.
• Hands-on experience with measurement and testing equipment, including oscilloscopes, DC/AC power testing equipment, calipers and micrometers.
• Familiarity with AQE, SQE, PQE, CQE, QC and Quality System audit functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for quality analysis, reporting and presentations.

Nice-to-haves:

• At least 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience (highly preferred).
• Automotive manufacturing background.
• Experience in motor-related manufacturing.
• Experience with AI-CCD inspection systems.
• Training in quality management, production safety, motor design or enterprise management.
• Ability to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin.
