Commissioning Manager – Mining Projects | FIFO | 6–12 Month Contract (Potential Ongoing)
Brisbane → NSW Site Transition | Leadership Role
Mills Recruitment has been exclusively engaged to appoint an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning activities across a major mining project.
This role will initially be Brisbane-based (planning phase) before transitioning to site in Mount Pleasant, NSW.
The Role You will take ownership of commissioning strategy, execution, and delivery across a complex project environment.
- Lead commissioning planning, execution, and close-out
- Manage subcontractors and commissioning teams
- Ensure alignment with project schedules, budgets, and safety standards
- Drive completions processes using structured systems (e.g. Smart Completions)
- Interface with project leadership and stakeholders
Key Requirements
- 10+ years site construction experience
- Strong background in commissioning mineral processing plants
- Proven leadership across commissioning and subcontractor management
- Solid understanding of project management practices
Essential Capabilities
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in complex project environments
Mandatory Certifications
- S11
- Coal Board Medical (CBM)
- Supervisor qualifications (S1,2,3 – QLD coal)
- General coal industry inductions (e.g. Standard 11)
- Experience with Smart Completions systems
Project Details
- Initial: Brisbane Office (planning phase)
- Site: Mount Pleasant, Muswellbrook NSW
- Accommodation: Rental house provided
- Roster: Transition to 10/4 FIFO
- Duration: 6–12 months (strong potential for extension)
