Auto Electrician | Pilgangoora | 13-Week Temp to Perm | 8/6 – 7/7

Mills Recruitment is seeking experienced Auto Electricians to join our client’s mobile maintenance team at their Pilgangoora mining operation.

This is a genuine 13-week temp-to-permanent opportunity for experienced mining Auto Electricians looking for long-term job security and the opportunity to join a growing mobile maintenance team.

You will initially join through Mills Recruitment for 13 weeks on a casual assignment. Following successful completion of the 13-week period, you will transition into a permanent position directly with our client.

$90.00 Hourly Casual Rate before transitioning to a permanent position.

Permanent Package Following 13 Weeks
On successful transition to permanent employment, the package includes:

• $170,000–$180,000 annual salary
• $10,000 sign-on bonus
• $5,000 after completing 6 months
• Additional $5,000 after completing 12 months
• Additional annual bonus opportunities
• 8/6 and 7/7 rotating roster – days and nights
• Long-term permanent employment
• Opportunity to join an established Pilbara mining operation and growing maintenance team

The Role
Working within the mobile maintenance team, you will be responsible for electrical maintenance, diagnostics, fault finding and breakdown repairs across a substantial fleet of heavy mobile mining equipment.
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

• Electrical diagnostics and complex fault finding
• Low-voltage electrical repairs
• Planned and preventative maintenance
• Breakdown and unplanned repair work
• Air-conditioning diagnostics and repairs
• Working across CAT, Epiroc and Komatsu mining equipment
• Using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment
• Identifying faults and providing effective repair solutions
• Supporting equipment reliability and availability
• Working closely with the wider mobile maintenance team
• Maintaining high safety and maintenance standards

What We’re Looking For
We’re particularly interested in experienced Auto Electricians who have strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities, rather than candidates whose experience is predominantly routine servicing.
To be considered, you will ideally have:

• Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology
• Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning
• Current driver’s licence – minimum LR
• Minimum 2 years’ post-trade mine-site experience
• Strong experience working on heavy mobile mining equipment
• Proven electrical diagnostic and fault-finding capability
• Mobile equipment air-conditioning experience
• Previous open-cut mining experience
• Strong commitment to safety
• Ability to work effectively within a busy maintenance team

Highly Regarded
Experience or tickets in the following will be advantageous:

• CAT, Epiroc and/or Komatsu equipment
• Pronto
• Forklift
• EWP
• Working at Heights
• CV Crane
• Basic Rigging
