You’ll plan, develop and quality-check civil design work across earthworks, roads and drainage. You’ll also produce 3D models, drawings and documentation, and complete quantity take-offs for estimating.

This is a senior role with real influence. You’ll lead a small design group, check the work of designers and drafters, and mentor the next generation of civil design talent.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Planning, coordinating and reviewing design work within a small civil/structural design group on medium-sized projects
• Producing models, drawings and documentation for earthworks, road and drainage structures to established design standards
• Preparing civil design estimates and work plans aligned with project scope, schedule and budget
• Reviewing and checking civil sketches and drawings from designers and drafters
• Ensuring designs comply with applicable codes, design guides, regulations and standards
• Coordinating with engineers, other project disciplines, clients and suppliers, and facilitating technical discussions with third parties
• Communicating complex technical issues and recommending solutions to senior management
• Contributing to engineering department procedures, design guides and standard applications
• Mentoring civil designers and drafters through on-the-job training

What You’ll Bring

• 12 to 14 years of relevant civil design and drafting experience
• Extensive hands-on experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads (essential)
• Proven experience in a lead designer role, or recognised training in leading people
• Experience with multi-discipline interface management and global 3D model oversight
• Strong ability to read, interpret and use drawings and documents from other project groups
• Sound knowledge of engineering and construction materials relevant to civil design
• EPCM, mining, infrastructure or major projects background highly regarded

Working Arrangement
This role is hybrid, with at least three days per week in the office or on the project. You’ll agree your weekly schedule with your supervisor.
