Mills Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established manufacturing operation based in O’Connor, WA.
This is an excellent opportunity for a trade-qualified fitter looking for a local Monday-to-Friday manufacturing role, offering consistent day-shift hours and the opportunity to transition into permanent employment following an initial 13-week casual period.
You will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance, fault finding and repair of machinery within a busy production environment.
The Role
- $55–$60 per hour + super, depending on experience
- 6:00am–2:00pm day shift
- O’Connor location
- 13-week temp-to-perm opportunity
- Mechanical maintenance of production machinery
- Planned and preventative maintenance
- Breakdown repairs and fault finding
- Supporting plant reliability and reducing production downtime
- Working within an established manufacturing operation
What We’re Looking For
- Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter
- Previous experience maintaining machinery within a manufacturing or production environment
- Plastic extrusion machinery experience highly regarded
- Experience with mechanical breakdowns, repairs and preventative maintenance
- Strong mechanical fault-finding ability
- Safety-focused and reliable
- Able to work the 6:00am–2:00pm day shift
- Unrestricted Australian working rights
Previous plastic extrusion experience would be advantageous; however, experienced Mechanical Fitters who have maintained other types of manufacturing or production machinery are strongly encouraged to apply.
