A well-established Perth firm specialising in will and estate disputes is looking for a senior lawyer to join their team. The firm has acted in estate matters for over 20 years, appearing in the Supreme Court of WA, the Court of Appeal, the High Court of Australia, and the State Administrative Tribunal. Their work covers family provision claims, will validity challenges, executor and beneficiary disputes, trust disputes, and complex, multi-issue estate litigation.
This is a firm that runs matters to trial when that’s what the client needs, not just settlement mills. They’ve built a reputation on results in large and contested estates, and they take on the cases other firms shy away from.
The role
You’ll manage your own file load across contentious estate work: family provision claims, capacity and validity challenges, executor disputes, and trust litigation. You’ll work directly with clients through what are often difficult family circumstances, and you’ll have genuine autonomy in running your matters, with support from an experienced director and senior associate when you need it.
What you’ll need
- 5+ years PQE, with solid litigation experience
- Background in wills and estates law, ideally with contested estates or probate litigation exposure
- Comfortable running matters through mediation and to trial
- Strong drafting and advocacy skills
- Current WA practising certificate (or eligibility to obtain one)
