About the role
In this key leadership role you will coordinate environmental, heritage and water approval requirements, ensuring they are effectively integrated into engineering design, project planning and delivery schedules. Working across multidisciplinary teams, you will manage critical approval pathways, heritage survey programs, environmental risks and stakeholder interfaces to enable timely project progression and minimise delivery impacts.
Location and roster
The position will be Perth-based for approximately the first 12 months, transitioning to a FIFO site roster as the project moves into the execution phase. A site uplift will be added.
Duties and responsibilities
- Lead environmental, heritage and approvals activities to support project delivery and engineering progress
- Coordinate environmental specialists and consultants to achieve approval milestones on schedule
- Manage heritage survey programs and clearance requirements to enable uninterrupted design activities
- Coordinate environmental inputs for water approvals, licensing and hydrogeological investigations
- Ensure environmental and heritage requirements are incorporated into engineering design and review processes
- Monitor approval schedules, identify project risks and proactively manage critical path deliverables
- Lead environmental and GIS resources while building strong stakeholder relationships across the project team
Skills and experience required
- Tertiary qualification in environmental science, environmental engineering or a related discipline
- Significant experience in environmental approvals and compliance on major mining or resources projects
- Working knowledge of Western Australian and Commonwealth environmental approvals frameworks, including the EP Act, Mining Act and EPBC Act
- Demonstrated experience managing heritage survey programs and Aboriginal heritage clearance processes
- Experience coordinating water approvals, licensing and hydrogeological investigations
- Proven ability to integrate environmental and heritage obligations into engineering design and project schedules
- Experience leading environmental and GIS resources, and managing external consultants
- Strong stakeholder management skills across project teams, regulators, and Traditional Owner groups
- Willingness to transition to a FIFO roster as the project moves into execution
- Current Australian legal working rights
