Mills Recruitment is partnering with a leading data center construction and engineering company to hire a Structural Engineer based at NTP Project, Gelang Patah, Johor, Malaysia, supporting large-scale digital factory, industrial, and modular construction projects.
 
About the Role
The Challenge
Take ownership of structural engineering activities across complex construction projects, ensuring structural integrity, quality, and compliance from drawing review through site installation and project completion.
 
The Opportunity
Work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams on large-scale data center and industrial projects, contributing to steel structure, foundation, and prefabricated modular construction while supporting successful project delivery.

What You Will Do

• Manage structural engineering activities involving civil works, steel structures, and prefabricated modular construction projects.
• Review construction drawings, structural designs, technical specifications, and provide technical solutions to support efficient site execution.
• Supervise structural installation activities, monitor construction quality, and ensure compliance with project specifications, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and MEP teams to resolve structural interfaces and technical issues.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, inspection records, technical reports, variation orders, and as-built documentation.

Who We Are Looking For
Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma or above in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Steel Structure Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial plants, steel structure, modular construction, or data center projects.
• Hands-on experience with prefabricated and modular building construction is essential.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, BIM, structural design software, and other engineering tools.
• Experience working on data centers, industrial facilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects will be an advantage.

Skills and Attributes

• Strong knowledge of steel structure construction, foundation engineering, and structural quality control.
• Able to independently review drawings, conduct technical evaluations, and deliver technical briefings.
• Strong coordination, technical problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Mandarin and basic English is essential to effectively communicate with project stakeholders and counterparts.
• Responsible, proactive, and willing to be based on project sites, including overseas assignments when required.
