We are recruiting an experienced Forklift Mechanic to join a well established on‑site operation in Dunedin. This is a hands on role suited to a self driven technician who enjoys autonomy but also works well as part of a wider maintenance team.

The job: You’ll be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, servicing, and repair of a fleet of forklifts and material‑handling equipment within a busy industrial environment. This is a site based role with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and uptime.
 
You’ll be trusted to:

• Work independently when required
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment
• Take ownership of equipment performance and preventative maintenance

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine faults
• Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
• Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
• Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical drawings
• Maintain accurate service records and maintenance reports
• Identify and recommend improvements to reduce downtime
• Ensure all work is completed to a high safety and quality standard

Experience is essential for this role. To be successful, you’ll have:

• Proven experience as a Forklift Mechanic / Forklift Technician or similar heavy equipment role
• Strong fault‑finding skills across diesel, LPG, electric, and battery‑powered forklifts
• Practical knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, brakes, and drive systems
• A strong safety mindset and attention to detail
• The ability to work confidently solo and contribute positively within a team
• Relevant trade qualification or hands‑on industry experience
